Rex balneatur in Laconico sedens, atraque bile liberatur a Pharut.
The king bathes, seated in the sweat-bath, and is freed from black bile by Pharut.
Black bile is the old name for melancholy. The king is not cured by argument but by sitting in the heat until it passes.
What would it mean to sit in the heat instead of escaping it?
